2011 Tie rods. Already? Brand?

Hello all,

Well I hit 38k on my 2011. I do not drive it often but lord I have had my share of front end issues with this ol girl. EPAS replaced at 22k, steering wheel shaft replaced, hubs, one caliper. All has been well for awhile and I noticed on a cold day this week I was getting a clunking out of the left wheel when hitting small bumps. I lifted her up today and it looks to be the inner tie rod has some play.

I am out of warranty of course so this rounds on me. I havent seen any threads on this for the 2011-14 style so I am curious if anyone else has had tie rod issues this premature? Granted I do have boss coil overs set at 2.75 with 34" Duratracs so that may be hitting them hard but they have only been on for around 10k miles.

Anyway, to the point. I am torn on going MOOG or Motorcraft. I dont mind spending the money for the right part. I always have gone MOOG in the past but I wondered with these trucks is MC the way to go or is MOOG still the right direction with these trucks?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Also, if there is any tips or hidden secrets on replacing the inner on this year. Interested in that too!

Personally I'd lean towards MC over Moog on inner tie rods

OEM with steel on plastic or MOOG with steel on steel w/grease zerks. No brainer there.

Inner tierods do not have zerk fittings. Only the outer.
