Instrument Cluster not turning off

So my 2012 FX4 started eating batteries last week. One died, I thought it was a bit pre-mature even for Arizona, so I replaced it with a Costco Interstate. One week later it was dead too. Must have a bad alternator, right, so I had it tested. It passed along with the 7 day old battery. Must have a drain somewhere. That's when I noticed in the middle of the night in my garage saw a glow from my dash. The instrument cluster remains illuminated all the time and won't turn off. Brought it to the dealer. They say its a bad sensor in my transmission, a park sensor. Does, $646.88 seem reasonable a price to replace that? Just wondering if any of you have had this issue... Be nice. I'm a novice on these forums.

Without seeing the invoice, I'd guess they're talking about the park/neutral switch

You're likely paying 120/ hr labor rate

120 =1hr diag
120 = install new switch/sensor?
Cost of sensor? Can't imagine it's more than 100 bucks.

Sounds like you need to get more information about what exactly they're charging

The MLPS is $50 at Rock Auto, so it should be under $100 at the dealer.
