I just purchased a used 2012 STX ext cab, and the seats are filthy. I am going to start looking for some replacement seats asap. My question is will 2004+ seats work in my 2012? I'd like to find leather seats, would my stx have a harness under the carpet? Or am I going to have to stick to non power seats? Also i had an 04 fx4 and it looks like the non power seats and center seat with arm rest would bolt right up. I liked the fold down armrest with cup holders in the older trucks a lot more.

 

It was my understanding that the electronics are different between the 04-08's and the 09-14's. They may physically bolt in but your air bags may not work. Also the 04-08 scabs front seats have the seat belt built into the seat itself, but the 09-14 fronts have the seat belt built into the rear doors. Being that it is late August 2016, odds are there are at least a few good 09-14 seats in the boneyards, you just have to find them.

 

If the seats still function, why not recover them?
