First Post - 2013 Lariat 4x4- Put on 295/70/18 Toyo's, Bilstein 5100
Hey guys,
This is my first post so I apologize if this is the wrong section. Just bought this (new to me) 2013 F150 Lariat 4x4 last week with 55,000 miles. I love it but I definitely wanted to beef it up a bit.
I lurked for a while trying to figure out how to fit the most tire possible without issues, leveling kits, lifts, etc. I heard different things from different posts but I came to the conclusion that I wanted to put 295/70/18 Toyo Open Country ATII's on my stock wheel, and I figured I would have a little rub and need to level the front somewhere between 1"-3" to mitigate that. Surpsringly, there is no rub at all at full lock. So thats cool, but I still like the look of a leveled truck.
I am getting Bilstein 5100's put on tomorrow (just on the front) and was hoping you guys could point me in the right direction as for how high to set them. I like the way it looks on the top setting, but I have heard the ride is rough and that adds a lot of wear and tear to the ball joints, etc. I don't want to have a sh*tty riding truck, I work in construction so I am on different terrains off road all the time, not exactly a "pavement princess."
Also, can I replace the rear block with a larger one, and is there any negative side effects of doing so? IF not, what size rear block would yall recommend?
Last question (for now) - as far as getting the speedo recallibrated, if I pay the dealership the $100 they are asking, will this just correct the speed and mpg and stuff or will it also correct the shift points / do I need to correct the shift points? I really don't want these minor mods to end up causing long term damage to any part of the truck, as I plan to drive this for a long time.
Sorry for all the questions, but I know there are some experts here who have been there and done that so I appreciate any and all input.
Please advise this noob. Thanks!
Kyle

Without a tune the shifts will be a bit wonky and the speedo will be off but unless you're pulling something really heavy it won't be too noticeable.

Adjustable as in what? The shock dampener or is it a coil over kit that adjusts the height of the truck?
