Power Lock Hesitation After Remote Start
Power Lock Hesitation After Remote Start
Hello everyone. I have a small issue to resolve. My remote locking works fine if I don't use the remote starter. When I use the remote starter I can be standing right next to the truck and the remote locking will not immediately open the doors. It's quicker to use the key then wait on the remote locking. I've changed the batteries in both fobs, checked to make sure that they lock and unlock the doors and they do. I have the Ford 3-button remote system and the 1-button w/led remote starter. Wondering if anyone has encountered the issue with their factory system as well, and if so how did they resolve it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Has it always done this? Or did it change?
I think its standard. My wife has that same system on her 2010 Escape and it has the same delay.
My 2012 F150 has a different starter system - the key has the starter button included with the lock and unlock buttons right on the key. With that one you can immediately unlock the doors.
But I think the one you have has a longer range than mine... I looked into it some time ago and that was my recollection of the 2 systems.
For my wife's car - once in awhile I start it to back it out... you just have to push the start button at least 15-20 seconds before you want to get in.
(otherwise just get in and then turn the key!)
