2013 center console

I just traded my '09 in on a 2013 STX extended cab and I'm already missing the center console storage bin from the '09. This one just has a big fold down cushion with a headrest and no storage, just a small bin under the seat cushion. I used the hell out of that console storage in my '09 - any fixes for this one?

Yes, just buy a center console off flea-bay and swap it out for the center seat. When I swapped one into my 05, it was just 4 bolts and one electrical plug.

Bingo, that's it. Thanks, it was a fluke that I found it. It has everything I wanted in it and it's the right color too. It was 49,700 sticker when i got it, I paid 40,040 for it.

That's the only thing I hate on my truck, there's hardly enough room to put your gps in the console. Plus the cup holders are kind of awkward. In my 04 FX4 you could fit 2.5 bodies in the center console

If I can find a center console like the one you posted that will match my Adobe interior I'd swap that useless seat out for t in a heartbeat.

I did some more research and it looks like a whole lot of F150 owners weren't happy with that jump seat arrangement, so there are quite a few forum threads on how to swap them out for the center console. Now it's just a matter of tracking down one that's the right color and in good condition for a decent price. But I know for sure, this jump seat POS has to go ASAP.

I do really like the truck, though. There are lots of things that are improvements over my '09. Just wish I could have found a black STX regular cab with the 5.0, but finding a nice regular cab is tough.

I found this one on eBay and it looks pretty good, but it doesn't include the brackets and I understand from threads I've been reading that the brackets are different. The seller says they're the same. Am I going to have problems installing this console?

That is a fold down seat with a small storage compartment on the back side of the seat. IT IS NOT A CONSOLE. The regular console does not need brackets, just the flow thru console does. The regular console uses the same four bolts that holds the center seat in place.

The link in your earlier post is a console and that is the one you want.

OK - that was a misnomer on my part. It is what I'm looking for, though. So will it bolt in in place of the jump seat I have now with the existing brackets that are holding the jump seat in?

I see what you're saying - they're completely different. But what I'm really after is the storage and what is provided in the second link is good enough for me. It's basically what I had in my '09, whereas now with the jump seat, there's no storage at all - just a blank upholstered seat back on the fold down jump seat.

No brackets, its just bolted directly to the floor.

If your not going to need the third seat, just get the full console, it has a ton more storage space. If your going to pay 3 bills for very little storage, why not add another bill to it and get the real console.

Very good point and I think you're right on the money. As far as I can recall, in the five F150s I've owned, I've never had a middle passenger, so I might as well opt for the most storage space possible.

Did they make the console in gray to match my interior or am I just as well off getting the black and gray since the black (more or less) matches the dash?

Thanks - I really appreciate the help!

Actually its not black, it's two-tone gray. They only come in gray or tan. The tan ones are about as rare as hens teeth.
