Sync screen freezes/blackouts

2013 Screw 2wd XLT

My sync screen will sometimes freeze or go blank. Usually switching functions will bring it back.

Should I be concerned? Is it just a software glitch & I need to update?

I'm covered under B2B warranty so now would be the time to get it fixed if it needs attention.

I had the same issue with my Edge. I just uploaded the latest update a couple of weeks ago and haven't had the issue since. https://support.ford.com/tools/account/sync-software

Easy to do, but takes a while to update.

Hi 03Fx4JD,

Send me your VIN in a PM and I'll verify that you're running the latest and greatest software.

Hey Kim, can you answer one easy question for me? How the $&% do you change the state via voice commands? I can hit the voice button and go through all the prompts to input an address but there is no way to change the destination state? Did the Sync team forgot about those lines on the map? I've had to stop the truck before to make this change. Why?!?

Hey Wookie,

Are you referring to the navigation system in your 2011 F-150? If so, you might have the AUTO-FILL STATE/PROVINCE setting switched to ON. If this is the case, your navigation system will automatically fill in the state based on the vehicle's GPS location. Check out page 121 of your Navigation Supplement for information on how to change this: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Fo.../11ngnsn2e.pdf

I recommend turning AUTO-FILL OFF if you're travelling between states or live near a border.

Thanks KIM, I sent you a PM.

The beauty of the "ignore" feature on the forum, is that you don't have to see any of the uneducated childish responses that for some reason plague some forums like Egyptian Frogs. All you see is "This message is hidden because (user name here) is on your ignore list."

It's a wonderful feature. Wookie you should try it.

I know about it but in my lots of years here there has only been one person that has made it to that list. He was an insufferable troll that had already been thrown off of several other F150 boards because his panties were in such a twist because Ford had the audacity to use a V6 as a premium engine in a truck. I was right on the edge of taking another vacation from here because of his nonsense.

Besides, why would you want to ignore posts like this?
