Hey - why are you derailing this thread? The thread is SPECIFICALLY about a choice between the EB and 5.0, you jump in here and brag about your 6.2? Give us a break. You have plenty of other places on this forum for tooting about your blown 6.2.

I'll just leave this here...

There's plenty more where that came from.

I'm not saying you're wrong as much as I'm saying you're not right. A well launched EB will take the 6.2, almost every online video shows this as well as the torque curve of the two engines. Yes, the 6.2 makes more torque than the EB but it's only 15 or so Ft-Lb and for 400 RPM or so. The rest of the time the EB is putting more to the ground.

HAHAHA you guys are hilarious with your Honda civic sounding trucks.. and that all wheel drive limited ran a 15 sec 1/4 mile... which tells me he cant drive from the get go.. And the guy with the name MGD fan posts a burn about beer... ill leave that alone.

And for the op just youtube any roush 5.0, there are plenty in the 11s. Dump 10 grand in the ecoboost like MPT did and you might hit mid 12s.. so I would go with 5.0 so no one looks for an acura when your driving by..

But hey guys when your economy goes **** up AGAIN maybe ill pop over there and buy an ecoboost for the wife.

I'd go with the 5.0, a V-6 in a full size truck is just rude and uncalled for.

However if there had been an identical truck with the V8 I would have gone for that to save $1000.
Base truck with 5.0 is a 1,000 option
Base truck with EB is a 2,500 option

So you would have saved 1500 by going 5.0 instead of EB, not 1000

The price difference is all over the place. For me the cost of the EB was $130 over the 5.0 because of the X plan and incentives. I've read where done folks on here bought an EB because the dealer offered them a better deal on it. Ditto that for the 5.0. That's why I suggest someone drive both and see what they like them yet to make

I will say that my friend who is a die hard GM guy borrowed my truck and is almost convinced to dump his 5.3 Chevy to get an EB Ford because my truck gets better mileage and pulls a trailer so much better than his.

I'd listen to the words out of this mans mouth ...... very very carefully shall you tread. Good ol' MGD can open up a can of smack down unlike anything I have ever seen

Back on the OP's topic, I want an EcoBoost because I think they are awesome. I am however a little disappointed that they did not raise the power for the 15's

I am also scared of the EcoBoost, for obvious reasons. I still have to do a 5.0 vs EcoBoost test drive to see for myself.

True, but who pays MSRP on these trucks? The sticker might show a higher option price but it really all comes down to dealer and what they need to move that day.
