Question for those that have the OEM remote start

What options do you have under the menu setting for remote start?

I got mine installed and it works great but i dont have the remote start option under the menu screen. Ive noticed when its cool outside that the defroster is blowing warm air but nothing is coming through the vents.
When its Hot outside the Ac is blowing through the vents when using the remote start.

Here is what my menu shows and its just not there.. I know on most truck the remote start option is on one of these menus

I wonder if it is like the trailer brake controller that you have to have it added to the on board computer.

Thats whats strange is i installed the brake controller months ago but never took it to get it activated. Since i had the truck in there to get the remote start activated i told em to do the brake controller also.

The brake controller options are there in the menu now, Just missing the Remote Start options

Yes there are 3 options. The first option is to adjust the Climate Control. The 2nd option is Duration and the 3rd option is Quiet Start.

Not sure I haven't tried it yet. I'll find out tomorrow. To be honest I hadn't used remote start until about a half hour ago. I did see the dealer use it once when I was looking at the truck about a month ago.

Jesus Christ, Cooter - dint ye read yer manual?

Under Remote Start:

"The horn will sound if the system fails to
start, unless quiet start is on. Quiet start
will run the blower fan at a slower speed
to reduce noise.
You can switch it on or off
in the information display."

And - under General Settings:

And yeah, yer dealer effed it up.

There are several versions of the remote start system... maybe that is what is impacting your menus?

I know when I had mine installed they did the one with the 4 button key. (I have menus like those shown above) There is another option with a second FOB that just does remote start.

I remember reading about it one time several years back... it seems like the one with the second FOB has a longer range and they have to install an antenna by your mirror.

Which version do you have?

I have the one with the 4 buttons on the key..

The one that does just the remote start on the fob is the extended range remote start and they do install the antenna by the rearview. I didn't want that one cause the key is big enough by itself, i couldnt imagine having the key plus a extra remote hanging from it.

My previous truck had the one with the extra remote fob. PITA. This truck has the four button key and I get the same options as Nassty. You can set exactly how you want stuff to come on. A couple of settings are dependent on the ambient temp whether they actually come on or not.

My park lights come on with mine. I think (without checking) that the quiet start doesn't alert anyone with the lights coming on or the climate fans running full tilt.
