Adding Keypad handle? 2014 STX

anyone add a Ford keypad entry handle? Im considering doing this on my 2014 STX when I am upgrading to painted handles.

I'm gonna start doing some research. I'll post any information that I find

Pat, I recently added a keypad handle to my cousins 04 XLT, could not get it to work. Haven't had time to go back over there and check out all the fuses. Anyway I've heard that on the 09+ it's a little more difficult than plug n play, AFAIK it has not been successfully done on an 09+

Question, does your 14 have bridgestone tires? I was at the dealer a few weeks ago and noticed the 14's had bridgestones on the 20" wheels. I asked my salesman what was up and his reply was ford responded to all the complaints about the pirellis

From what ive read there have been several successful 2012 installs on other forums, after the dealership reprogramed the truck with the optional feature

Guess my next step is pulling the door panel off and seeing if I have the magical connector already in the door

It was my understanding that if you have factory power door locks, then the connector is there. If you don't then it is hit or miss.

I have power locks, as well as keyless entry remotes. But being an STX (basically XL trim) wasnt sure if I'd have these optional goodies prewired.

My next task after getting the handles squared away will be converting to auto headlights if possible.

Back in the late-90s and early 2000s I bought three new Ford vehicles not equipped w/keypads that came with a keypad code card in the glove box anyways. IF yours came with a code card, I would think it ought to be a plug-and-play process.

They are not programmed for the pad nor do they have the card as it has no number if there is no keypad. You have to add the pad and have the dealer reprogram the PCM.

Probably not what yer looking for but when I bought my STX a few weeks back, the owner of the dealership said if I wanted to add a keyless pad to it that they had keypads that glue on the truck. You can put them on the door, in the bed, under the bed rail, etc and they are battery operated. Ford has them and they can be bought on Ebay for well under 20 bucks. I'm going to assume it's nothing more than a remote fob that glues to the truck. It does not wire into the truck at all. Looks like this one listed on Fleabay for 10 bucks and is supposed to be a Ford product.

I put one of those on my wifes 2008 fusion, easy install just follow the directions. the earlier models like I had did not have a replaceable battery and it died 1.5 years later. It is my understanding that ford revised the design and you can now replace the battery in them.

Prewired, still haven't taken the time to get it programmed. Need to drop the truck off for some other issues, may have them do that while they have it

I'll keep you updated
