Alright everybody, here it is. Just got my new truck Monday. I traded up from my 06 lariat to a brand new 2014 lariat. Its kodiak brown metallic (although it looks black in pictures), has just about all the goodies but a moon roof. Its got the 5.0L.

So now that I have the truck, its time to get the project list going and start changing things. Any suggestions would be helpful as I am just trying to get ideas lined up about what all I want to do. However keep in mind that this is a daily driver and I tow trailers quite often so no crazy lifts and this is not a street queen. It will be put to work.

Ideas so far...

-Tint on the driver and passenger windows. I would like it to match the back and being into DIY projects am interested in doing it myself. I could use ideas on % of the tint and what brands/tools I need to look for.
-Window visors all around
-N-Fab style steps in black texture finish
-Line-X bed liner
-Rubber floor mats custom made to keep the clean look inside, not sure on a brand yet
-leveling kit or possibly a 3"or 4" lift, nothing bigger. Suggestions on this please. I love the stock wheels, however I know most lift kits require aftermarket rims. Is there a 3 or 4" lift out there that allows you to keep OEM rims?
-Definitely going with some A/T tires for hunting season. Not sure on a size or brand yet as gas milage is a major concern and I'm not sure I want to kill MPGs yet with larger tires.
-LED interior light swap (did this in my 06 and loved it)
-LED strips around the bed so I can see tools and whatnot at night.
-Not sure what performance upgrades are out there for the 5.0 as I haven't looked into it yet but maybe some sort of cold air intake. If it would be noticeable as far as performance goes.
-Also maybe a programer with custom tunes. Again I had an edge on my 06, but never got custom tunes made. Not sure if its worth the money for maybe more power when towing or better MPGs.

So again I am new to the newer body style and all the technology (makes me feel like I was in the stone ages with my 06) available on my truck so any comments, questions, concerns, advice, or angry outbursts will be much appreciated.

Thanks guys. Sorry I should have put 5.0 at the top and not hide it deep in the text. Yes I've noticed the black truck with brown sparkles thing. Almost got about three other trucks before I saw this one and had to have it. Its not a popular color here so nobody had ever seen one this color.

Must be in a sig. It's not in the post that it is 5.0. You don't see sigs on the phone.

I'm confused. That part was definitely not in the original post. I didn't see a 5.0 mentioned anywhere either

Congrats...nice looking truck. However, the cat doesn't seem too interested in the truck.

Nice looking truck! I've been looking into lifts as well that will allow you to keep the stock wheels (my truck came with the same wheels as yours). It looks like some of the coilover kits will max out at around 3" of lift and as long as you don't go crazy on the remote reservoirs, you can keep the stock wheels.

Good looking truck.

Regarding the tint. I would highly suggest getting it done professionally as the tint they use are much better then what you find at wal-mart, autozone, etc... However if you still want to stick with the DIY route. I'd call local tint shops and see if they'd be willing to sell you some tint. Or you could try ebay but search for high quality tint like 3M, etc...

If you're trying to match the front to the back factory glass. 20% will do the trick.
