Sounds like a filter relocation kit is in order, if you want to easily change your own oil on the ecoboost trucks. I have considered one for my truck, just because it is kind of a pain to deal with. Sounds like the ecoboost trucks are even worse to deal with.

Took mine in to the dealer last week for the first oil change at 5K miles. It really look's like a PITA to change oil on the Eco engine so may as well let them fight with it. I'm close to 67 yrs old and don't like getting dirty anymore!!

It's really not that bad. There's just a few little tricks you need to know about in order to do it easily. I also prefer to do it on a cold engine so that I can hold the drain plug and slowly pull it out. This stops the oil from gushing out onto the sway bar. On a hot engine I'll hold a small funnel so the oil goes into it and the collection pan. My last oil change only had 2 drips hit the ground.
