Electric Fan Issue

About a week ago down here in Southern Louisiana we received about 7" of rain in about a 2hr period. Streets flooded. I usually don't take my truck out into such high water but this particular day the water was over the tops of fire hydrants in some areas. I noticed when I got home later that day that my electric fan would run on high even with the A/C turned off. I thought maybe it had something to do with the heat or water on a sensor or something simple. I let the truck dry out over the course of a couple days while driving normally but the fan continued to run on high. I even allowed my truck to sit up over night and start it early that morning before the Sun rose and cranked it up cold, yet the fan still would run on High even with the A/C still turned off. I searched and searched on the forums and on Google in general. Couldn't find anything relating to my issue.

I called a local Ford Service center and they informed me it could be a bad fuse for the Low Fan which defaults into the Fan running in High all the time. I searched the web for this and found nothing. I called my Ford Dealership's service center and asked about the issue and was told it could be a resistor in the blower motor. Well after receiving different answers I decided to take my truck into the dealership to have the oil changed(it was about 200mi early)and to have it done with synthetic(this is my 2nd oil change) and while it was to be in there to have the fan issue fixed while I was still under warranty. I dropped it off this week Monday around 5pm CDT, called Tuesday and was told it was first on the list for Wednesday. I called Wednesday around noon and was told the tech had to open a ticket with Ford on this issue and also that there was another truck in the shop for the same issue. I called back today and was told they were still researching the issue.

I'm posting this because A.) I haven't been able to find any info about this online so maybe someone might have the problem and search and hopefully find this post B.) When it is finally fixed, again, the information will be here for those to find. and C.) To hopefully get some input from others who may have heard about this issue from a friend of a friend of an acquaintances' friend and might be able to shed some light on the issue.

I'll post and update as soon as it is given to me.

Hoping to have my truck back tomorrow I've got an '08 HD Fatbob as my alternate means of transportation; that was until I got clipped at a red-light Tuesday evening and thrashed my bike as well as myself. So I've been utilizing the Father-in-Law's '03 F-250 SuperDuty until my truck is ready. Got to say I love the power of the Diesel, but I do miss the features of my '13 STX.

Hopefully they will get it straightened out for you. Just curious, is the fan real loud on high? I know my dad had a 2004 Crown Vic and you could hear the fan sucking some serious air. The one on my truck is pretty quiet.
