Transmission Issue

Hey guys,

I have a 2007 F-150 5.4L and having a little problem. When I get to about 45-50 my truck shutters however when I turn off the overdrive I do not have the issue. I've searched quite a few forums and all i see are replacing the torque converter or/and tcc solenoid. I have actually done both and she drives better however I still get the shimmy/stutter. Without investing another few hundred dollars on guessing at what it could be, any ideas what else could cause this?

Thanks

How many miles on the spark plugs? This sounds like a low grade misfire.

Trans shutter

This may sound crazy but I had the same issue with a expedition that I just traded in on my new truck. Ammco wanted to rebuild the trans for $4k. The truck had about 95k miles on it when the shutter started and 280k miles when I traded it in. I have had at least 20 vehicles in my life and have never added nor been an advocate of adding anything to the drive train. However when looking at $4k I figured I had nothing to loss. Of course Ammco told me if I did that they may not be able to rebuild the tranny. What I did was flush the tranny so I had new fluid to start with. I added a product called "lubegard Dr tranny". I got it at OReillys auto. It is about 6 oz in a red tube that you just squeeze into the filled tube. I added a tube about every 40k when the shutter would start again. I am not a mechanic and I am sure people may blast me with their opinions but the results are there. I bought 6 tubes total at $8. That sure beats $4k. Do some research on it and see for yourself. Good luck
