Cleaning Intercooler and a Few Questions

Howdy everyone

First Question

Does anyone know a good way to clean the intercooler to get all the bugs out of it? The front end of the truck is covered in bugs and noticed the intercooler is pretty covered also.. Would just spraying it with a pressure washer work? I dont want to screw up the fins on it if its like a radiator.

Second Question

For the last month when i take off easy i can hear what sounds like the abs or traction control kicking on, Kinda like a buzzing or clicking sound from under the dash area.. It only happens when just barely giving it gas. Has anyone else experienced this ?

Third Question

I have been fighting with the dealership about a noisy front end for the last 10 months, When i have the wheels cut hard to the right or left and on any kind of incline while moving it will pop in the front suspension. If its a kinda hard drop it litereally sounds like the suspension is about to fall out from under it.. I have brought it up to the dealership several times and always get the we cant replicate the problem. Any Ideas on what it could be so i can give a suggestion?

Forth Question

I have had the rear-end clunk since about 10,000 miles. Got it "fixed" under the tsb around 25,000 miles and literally another 1000 miles later it came back.. Is it worth getting fixed again? Im sort of concerned it may be a more serious problem like the actual drive shaft, u joint etc.. But all the dealership is going to do is perform the same tsb again.

To clean my intercooler, I just used a hose to pre-soak and soften the bugs, waited 10 minutes, then sprayed it out with a normal sprayer nozzle on the hose. Keeps the pressure down and didn't seem to do too bad?

I'd avoid detergents that might react with the intercooler aluminum and cause corrosion. Maybe a gentle dish soap solution would help break through the grease (bug guts)?

My experience was this.....keep after the dealership on the driveline TSB. After they have done it a bunch of times they will move it up a level and get you a new drive shaft, which fixed mine for good.

Get that expanding foam A/C condenser cleaner for the radiator and intercooler. I wouldn't put a pressure washer to it as the fins might get bent up. That spray stuff works pretty good to clean bugs and junk out of them and just uses a hose to rinse it all off.

I've never heard the under dash sound.

I just live with most of the bumps, pops and clunks my truck makes.

Q1- I clean mine with an orange cleaner, spray it on, let it set for a few and use a garden spray to rinse from the back side.......

Q3- the clunk is the suspension hitting the stops,, normal. I do not turn the wheel to the stops and there is no noise.
