Need advice on new truck

Hey guys, I am in the process of getting a new truck. Credit Union financing is all done. All I have to do is go pick one out.

As much as I like the 2015 I know better than to buy a new version year. So, I am buying a 2014 F150 SCREW XLT. I chose the 5.0L over the Eco-Boost too. Is there anything I should be aware of with the truck or watch out for? What I mean is like the spark plug issue that plagued the 04-08, things like that.

No such issues. I have 72,000 on my 2011 and no problem at all. Some say the 5.0 has a tendancy to burn oil. Mine uses a quart in about 3500 to 4000 miles. I don't consider that burning much oil.

Good luck on choosing what you want for your new truck. the 5.0 should be a good solid engine choice. I'm thinking on what to do myself right now as do I keep my current truck another year or so as its a 05 with 154k+ on it. Been thinking of getting either another F150 XLT or going back to a mustang GT.

I've had both engines...the 5.0 in my '11 and the Ecoboost in my '13. Both are good engines but the Eco has way more low end power where the 5.0 need's to be revved up to 3 to 4K rpm's to get going! I'd advise the 3.73 or 3.55 rear to get the heavy screw up and moving. The 6 speed tranny seem's to get a little confused sometimes but after the learning the way's of your driving it will settle down and shift real smooth. Fuel economy on my '13 with the Eco engine is about 1 to 2 mpg better then the 5.0. If you get a 4x2 Screw with the 5.0...20 to 22 mpg would be possible at 65 mph on a long highway run. Congrat's on the '14!
