Lightbulb Anyone hard-mounted a RAM system to their dash

The factory F150 shop manual had me a bit fuzzy on where might be the strongest point to mount such a RAM-brand phone/GPS mount. I'm planning on mounting a Galaxy Note 3, in a Defender Otterbox (read: not light), so flex needs to be minimal, lest it rips out a chunk of the dash over a bad pothole...

2009 F150 XLT, in my case...

Why not consider putting it in the tray on top of your dash? Gives you easy access to drill a hole to hide your wiring, and IF it does ever break, it's an easy fix.

Pull your liner, and 2 screws and have a look at the option.....
