2011 f150 FX4 Ecoboost Climate Control Status on center display

Hi all. New to the forums..
A while back my center display on the dash started showing climate control status. It showed fan speed, temp, etc.. It only displayed it for a few seconds but just long enough for me to notice, then it never came back. I took it to the dealer and asked them to look into it and see if it could stay displayed. They told me that it was not designed to show AC status and it they didnt really believe me that it did display it. Now I dont have the dual climate control, and it is all manual, so I thought maybe that feature only came with the dual climate trucks... Question is, do any of you have this display or has anyone noticed this same behavior from the display?

Thanks!

My A/C controls are manual too. With the screen off and in the right sunlight, you can see the outlines of where other features could light up if the truck were equipped with those features, such as the fan speed indicator. Mine have never illuminated though. Sounds like your truck had a brief glitch (for lack of a better term).

Thanks for the reply JohnBoy.

I have since discovered how I got the AC display.. On my truck, with manual climate control, if you press the defrost and power button at the same time, then press only the defrost button, you get the entire display to light up. pressing any button again will turn it off. Also, if you press defrost and power at the same time, then only press the big center air flow direction button, you enter into some other programming mode for the AC. Has anyone else discovered this?

This, I already know.. Thanks. I found this accidentally the first time. Then I was determined to make it happen again to prove to everyone and myself that I wasnt going nuts! So i just started pressing buttons until I got a result. And it really only took me about 2 minutes to figure this out...

Perp, that exact same thing happened to me just the other day. I have not tried to duplicate it yet. Have you found any answers?
