custom front shocks/struts for 2010 f150...help
Hey guys,
I'm new to the site and have been searching for days to find an upgraded front shock for my 2010 F150 with a 4" Rancho lift. I don't need the springs just the shock themselves. The only ones for the the 4" lift I can find are the Rancho 9000XL adjustables (I have right now) and the Billstein upgrade.
My question is has anyone seen or heard of any performance upgraded shocks for the 09 and newer F150 other than the 2 listed for the 4" lift?
I was looking into buying the Icon or Fox/BDS coilovers for the 2" lift and just putting 2" strut spacers on top, has anyone seen or tried this? If so, how does the truck ride and everything operate? I know it sounds assinine but I cannot find anyother performance replacement shocks for the 4" lift but any brand lift kit.

Is it the lift that uses a 4" spacer? If so you could go with basically any oem size strut, since that's what those kits use.
You could go with the bilsteins or the rancho leveling struts, and use them at stock height if the kit uses the 4" spacer, or you could crank them up and bump yourself up to around a 6" lift.
As for the fox, kings, icon, bds, coilover's what 2" spacer are you referring too?

The Rancho 4" lift uses 4" lift springs and 4" shocks with no spacers. I didn't know if I could buy something like the Icon or Fox/BDS performance coilovers for a 2" lift (meaning the spring and shock are 2"taller than stock) and then throw a 2" aluminum/steel lift spacer between the strut assemble and the strut tower to give me the total 4"lift. I mean we can throw 2" spacers on the front of stock suspension to raise the truck so why not bolt it to a 2" performance coilover kit?
The suspension would loss 2"of actual suspension as 2" would be the strut tower spacers but there would also be the 2" lifted coilover performance struts. If this makes sense.

Do you have a link to the kit you have? The 4" lift springs doesn't sound right to me, it's basically either a 3" spacer or a longer strut all together.
Either way, what your saying would work about getting the performance coilovers, setting them to 2" and adding a spacer. However pretty much everyone of those company does or can produce a coilover that would fully replace the one in the 4" kit, you'd just need to know all the dimension and stuff like that.

Here is the link for my suspension currently on the 2010 f150 FX4 supercrew

only companies I can find that manufacture a full replacement strut for 4" lift is Billstein or Rancho. Im thinking of taking the Fox 2.0 2" coilovers and adding 2" spacers to the top.
