Window Tint % ?

I just picked up a '13 supercrew 150 with the XTR package and absolutely love it. One of the first things I would like to do is get the front windows tinted to match the rears.

What % of tint should I get to properly match the rears?

I've read that a more moderate tint level ( no darker than 35% ) is far less likely to be hassled but I am not offering any advice beyond check your local laws first.

I wish the color would match from the inside. I know its not drastic but every vehicle i had had i have tinted the windows and they never match factory privacy glass. From the outside you can't tell it though. But 20% is what i went with.

I put more tint over the privacy glass as well as the front, so the actual color of the tint matches. I'd do 15 or 20% and no darker. I have 5% on my front windows and it's way too dark, and illegal everywhere. You usually won't get hassled about 20% or so, though 35% is the limit in most places.

50% in illinois which is a nice smoke tint. I go 35% and its a very nice smoke color.
On my current reg cab i have 35% on front and 5% on the back, Only reason i went that dark on the back was because .... well on a reg cab the windows won't look dark at all compared to a crew or screw unless you go a lil darker- its hard to explain.
But for your truck i recommend (after 5 vehicles with tinted windows 3 of them a new f150)
to do 35% up front because if you go darker it just doesnt look natural i guess lol- dont look like a brotha and get pulled over and have to take it off witch would be a waste of your money. Plus ive had 5% all around and its not fun.
50%-35% looks almost factory and still blocks out ALLOT of sun.

I put 35 on mine. It definitely is lighter than the back, but backing up with my windows up is still possible. Been 3.5 years and still no trouble from the police about it, and there is a "no tint allowed" law here.

I didn't know your laws, which its why I just answered your question. In va 50% is the darkest you can go in the front legally. But most cops won't mess with you unless you are at 20% or lower. That is why I went with 35%. It still looks good too.

I went with 35% on my 07 and it's a little lighter then the back but it looks good to me. It's dark enough during the day to cut out a lot of light. At night it's just enough to cut the glare from the passenger mirror from cars behind me (drivers mirror auto dims) but not so much it impairs you ability to see.

I am at 20% but on my truck which is black the windows look darker anyway which may be why the cops have not bothered me yet. It is sometimes harder to back up at night if the side mirror is auto tinting as well.

Here's my '13 with 20% on the front doors. I never noticed the difference in color when looking from the inside out between the front and rear until my 8 year old daughter pointed it out last week.
