steering wheel lock removal

Any one know how to disassemble the steering column to remove the lock pin that locks your wheel when no key is inserted? Or at least have a diagram to show me what i need to do.

At tax time I plan on installing a push button start system in my truck so I don't have to carry the actual key around anymore. And so I don't have to have a dummy key in the lock cylinder I want to remove the pin.

I don't know the answer... but I have a question...
Will you also have to disable the PATS system or will it pick up the chip with the key in your pocket?

The idea is to leave the original keys in the house and just carry the new fob. They have an add on module to bypass the PATS and it's only 30 bucks.

The system I'm looking at has PKE (perimeter keyless entry) get within 10' and the doors automatically unlock, and when you walk away the doors lock automatically. It also has a gsm module so you can use your smartphone to remote start from anywhere you have a 3G or 4G signal. And of course it has the pushbutton so you don't need a key.

I've been e-mailing back and forth with a tech at Innovative Ignition Systems and he recommended this model. http://www.innovativeignitionsystems...m-31-rfid/cw16

No I never did, I couldn't find out how to disable it so I never pursued it any further. Also I don't have the truck anymore.

So you know how to disable the steering wheel lock? Because I was given a 1999 f150 w/ 106,000 miles on it. Catch is it's been sitting under a carport for about 3 yrs. A old man passed away and his wife hasn't touched the truck but wants it out of her way now. I have the key and tried everything I could to unlock it. So I have removed the lock cylinder hoping to be able to unlock the steering wheel. But it is stuck still. I greased everything I can get to on the steering and sprayed pb blaster everywhere also. I really need someone to help me out
