Headlights always on

I have a 2013 FX4 and I have recently noticed that my headlights are always on, regardless of the lighting outdoors. They are set on autolight, but I'm not sure why they are always staying on. Any ideas?

It sounds like one of two things.

1. Are you positive the headlights are actually on? The new trucks (like a lot of newer cars) always have the lights on the instrument panel on. I have seen a ton of people driving around without lights because they think they are on. It is always a newer car with temp tags. Euro cars have an indicator light in the cluster to show if you headlights are on but US and Asian cars do not have this. An easy way to know if your low beams are on is to turn your fog lights on. If the fog light indicator is lit up then your low beams are on, otherwise your lights are off and the dash lights are throwing you off.

2. Your dealer turned the DRLs on when they set the truck up.

do you have anything on the dash board? if you do it may be covering the sensor and thats the reason the lights are on cause it thinks its dark outside.

Like wookie stated these trucks dash lights stay on all the time while the truck is running, so you may just think the headlights are on.

I forgot about that option. I threw a hat on the dash once not thinking about it. I looked down and wondered why my Nav screen was dark, then it hit me.

Now that you say that it all makes sense. I didn't know the sensor was on the dash. I always keep my hat on the center of the dash. Thanks a lot everyone. I feel pretty dumb now, but good to know the fix. Again, thanks.

No problem, the sensor is a black pyramid looking thing at the base of the windshield right behind the Sync speaker.
