What's the difference?

I was on tire rack doing some comparisons on possible replacements for the stock pirelli scorpions when I found something interesting. There are two scorpion atr's for sale.

One is made in brazil
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....WLV2&tab=Specs

the other in mexico http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....TRV3&tab=Specs

The mexican tires are $15 dollars cheaper than the brazilian ones and they're 7 pounds lighter per tire but near as I can tell from the specs provided on tire rack they are identical. Any one know what the difference between the two is?

Not trying to give you a hard time, but your links are broken in BOTH threads you have posted here, crossposting is frowned upon here. The reason they are broken is you probably tried to copy and paste them from yet another thread you have posted somewhere else.

One is a crappy tire made by people that speak Portuguese.

One is a crappy tire made by people that speak Spanish.

EDIT:
For the cost of the Pirellis there are a bunch of better options for tires. They aren't all that good on the street and are absolutely horrible on the dirt and don't really last all that long. All they do right is be round (sorta) and hold air.

From what I have found, one is white lettered and the other is black side wall. Why one is heavier than the other I can't tell you. Why don't you contact tirerack. They are the only ones that can tell you for sure.

On tirerack the pictures show one is black sidewall and the other is white lettered.

I doubt there is any difference between the MX or the BR tires. The price difference is listed as "SPECIAL" so for reasons that Tire Rack has, the black wall tire is on sale. Other than the white letters or black wall difference, I would think it is more likely to be an entry error on the weight.

MX listed as 9.2 " tread width

BR listed as 8.5" tread width

Ever'thang else is the same... ( except white/blackwall as noted )

WTF - choose raised white lettering and get a narrower tread?

Methinks somethin's fishy here data-wise ...however, IF the dimensions are different it would explain the weight delta.

(Owwww! My achin' head!)
