Need recommendations for a lockable storage box

I looking for a metal lock box that fits in the flow thru console on my 13 with the usb and line in ports and sd card slot. Things are getting worse in Cleveland and just two days ago someone tried to carjack a guy at the steel mill where I work. So I need something secure to store my glock.

I'd use a gun you won't miss; console is the first place they will look. Or, get a Weatherguard box you can put it into before you go into the mill and then take it out when you are ready to go home.

Yeah, your right. I think I'll leave my glock at home, I have a cheap chinese made hi-point 9mm that was given to me as a throw away gun.

I've been searching the net and found this

http://www.mobilesecurityplusstore.c..._p/ld2026x.htm

It's price is comparable to the other brands, but its the only one that fits the 13 console, which is different than the 09-12's

cheap way is to cable lock it through the trigger guard to a seat bracket. They could attempt to take the slide off, but that would be pointless without the frame, and probably wouldn't want to mess with doing that. Then you can just do your best to hide it. There's been a couple times where i have chosen to not lock it in the flimsy center console and throw my gun in the driver floor board under the carpet by the pedals, would be really tuff to see it there. Most thieves are looking in the compartments for electronics, cash, wallets, etc anyway.

I'm more concerned about someone trying to jack my truck while I'm in transit to and from work. Once there the truck is secure, gated and guarded lot with several cameras. Home out in the suburbs is pretty safe too. It's the drive between the two.

Thing about locking it up is that you might get lazy after a hard day of work and figure that nothing is going to happen so you leave it locked. Then you cannot get to it when you need it. Taking it in and out of the truck each time like I suggested would get annoying also. I personally don't want to share online what I do myself, but what about making a contraption for to fit behind the access panel under the steering column. Is there enough room (I don't know)? If I were though to leave a gun in my truck it would be a cheap, but reliable gun. The 04-08 trucks have a great place behind the glove box. I found it when replacing my blower motor resistor. It can be accessed in a second . Nobody would ever think to look there.

I'll dig around and see what I can find for a quick access storage spot in the 13 interior. Thanks for the heads up.

BTW i just read in today's paper, the Ohio legislature is trying to eliminate the need for a CCW permit by making it legal for all to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. Thank god for a republican controlled state govt and a republican governor.
