Remote start-cold winter trick

Someone quickly tell me the trick where you can keep the truck running. Whats the button code? I checked the manual and couldn't find anything, and search with no results.

I haven't heard of any button sequence tricks for this, but there is plenty that I am clueless about. LOL! All I know personally is that you can set the options for remote start duration on the vehicle settings on your 4.3" LCD screen in the instrument cluster. IIRC, the options are 5,10, and 15 minutes. Go to settings, vehicle, remote start, and finally duration. Hope this helps. Cheers!

So what I'm referring to is, if you're running into a store and you don't want to leave the keys in the truck to keep it running. Not sure why I don't know the procedure.

Do you have the keypad on your door? If so just leave the keys in it and lock the door.
To lock from the outside with the pad push the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons at the same time and it lock all doors. When you return punch in your 5 digit code to get back in .

That's a huge security risk when someone just has to break window to get full access. And why would you want to when you can just select the remote start code I'm looking for and remove the key.

I guess you can't do it on the newer factory systems (2011-2014). On the older Ford accessory systems, you just press and hold the remote start button and it would take over and you could take out the keys and lock the doors, just like most aftermarket systems.
