How do you like that 3.7L? I have one in a 2wd reg cab short box and it goes pretty good. You really have to rev it to have any fun with it. I always wondered how it would feel with the extra weight of the supercrew.

It's ok, to me it has a lag because if I am correct it's drive by wire, and they put in a certain amount of lag in pedal response. But once it gets past the lag it does go!!!!!

I was told it has like 300 hp???? Think I could live with out the 6 speed. The ride is a little stiff,, not sure what causes that. boxed frame??? or suspension??

You don't like the 6speed? Surprised you don't like the ride either, huh. I don't know, but I think your 02 had a fully boxed frame too.

Frames weren't fully boxed until the '04+ generation. I'm actually not crazy about the 6 speed either; I feel like it shifts out of 1st gear too quickly. But I can live with it.

Nice truck! I just got one very similar

Oh, thanks! Guess I was one gen off. Hmm I bet some custom tunes would help a lot with that. They're so smooth though!

Does anybody know if the truck is drive by wire??????? Just in case no one knows what I am talking about the gas pedal only has electrical wires to guide the amount of throttle. There is no cable that pulls the butterfly.

The K.R I had,, had a softer ride than this truck. It also had shocks instead of struts. Would love to have the boxed frame on a 4x4.

AS far as the six speed goes,, when starting out it seems like the trans is confused if that makes sense. I don't know how to explain it really. I can't really describe it. Smooth is nice but cant tell if trans is working if you cant feel it shifting. Drive a car if you want smooth!!!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't have a mechanical throttle cable. I thought alot/some manufactures stopped using them a while ago? I have no idea but can't say I've seen one on my last (all) 3 vehicles.

I don't even like smooth in anything haha. Just loud!

These are drive by wire, yes. Actual throttle cables are a thing of the past ('03 was the last one). I'm not a fan of it either. I feel like my foot is really in control with the real cable.

I don't understand the need for it either. I know some people, myself included, would like to say the hell with it and get an actual cable back
