Screw back seat latches

I know every body knows about the back seat hidden latch and there have been numerous versions of some type of handle to make opening them easier. Well I spent about an hour and made my own.

After removing the latch from the back of the seat using a T-30 torx bit I drilled a 1/8" hole in the pin you have to grab to unlatch the seat.

I then used an old long T-handle allen wrench in 3/32" size and slid a crimp connector for steel cable onto the allen.

After temporarily putting it back together I crimped the cable crimp so the allen would not slide down and make it hard to reach.

I then marked the allen where I needed to make the bend.

After taking back to the bench I heated the allen with a propane torch and bent it on the mark. I then used a cut-off wheel on a 4" grinder to cut off the excess and then reassembled.

Now for the pics

closed latch

I know I've been slacking, it took me a whole three days before I started modding my new truck. On my old 07 I started on that truck 20 minutes after I got home.
And yes the wife thinks I'm crazy, but after 17 years you'd think she would know by now I can't leave anything alone for too long.
