3.55s & 34.5" Tall Tires (5.0L) 295-60-20

Im almost done with my Goodyr Duratracs (285-60-20 ...33.5" tall) and would love to go bigger on tire size...preferably 295-60-20 (34.5" tall) Trail Grapplers. Along with my new coilovers.

I have 3.55 gears on my 5.0L....are these tires gonna be to much for these gears? They are heavier too !!

Thoughts?

Its been done before. its also been done on the earlier models without the 6 speed. Do you ever tow? That will be the big question. Because if youre fine with the power now, and understand youll take another hit, I think youll be fine

I ran 35x12.50x20 trails (and they were really 35" 35.04 actually) on my 07 with 3.55's and a 5.4 with the same tq as the 5.0.

I ran this exact setup with my 5.0L Plat that first had a 2.5-inch BDS lift and then with a 4-inch Fabtech lift. You do notice a change in initial pickup due to the weight of the Nittos in this size, but the 5.0L still did fine with them once up to speed. You will see a noticeable drop in mileage. While they look fantastic, I was ready to switch them out for a lighter tire after a few months running them.
