Rear door sensor

I have a 2010 Super Crew and the rear driver door sensor says the door is open when it is not. What is the cause and how do I fix this?

My coworker has had this happen twice on his 2010. He described it as a small fiberglas guide rod in the center of the wire harness that breaks the wires.

There is a TSB apparently on this? I haven't had the issue so I'm not sure about the fix, just letting you know it is an issue.

Could be the door switch, could be wiring. I looked and didn't see a TSB for the '10.

My money is on the switch. take the door apart, unplug the switch (its in the latch assembly). If light goes out, replace the switch. You can buy it separately from the latch assembly, and I'm sure tasca could supply it for ya real cheap.

Actually, I don't remember if it defaults to open or closed when unplugged. If above method doesn't make the light go out, jump the prongs in the harness side of the plug. If using both these still doesn't make the light go out, then the switch is good, and your problem lies in the harness.
