NEED ADVICE!! Leveling Kit for 285/75/17 tires.

Hey all. I have a 2011 supercrew 4x4 6.5 ft bed. I am going to be getting some 285/75/17 tires. I have the stock 17" wheels. I was wondering what leveling kit to go with. I like the 2.5" autospring but I am concerned about the control arms rubbing. Also, my truck has a canopy on it so I am torn on which kit to buy. Autospring has a kit with rear blocks, and they have a kit with an AAL. I am not sure which one to get. I think the AAL would be nice because of the extra weight of the canopy and I do occasionally tow about 4500 lbs. But I don't think I will get the same lift with the AAL that I would with the blocks.

Thoughts?

I live down the road from A-S and had them install the 1.5" level last week (2013 Screw 4x4, 6.5' box). Before the install, I asked Kevin Yagues (owner) about 2-2.5" inches. He said those who go above 1.5 invariably elect to add rear blocks (because they go nose up). He was right. My truck barely has a rake now. 2" and I would have been nose up.

He also told me that up to 34s shouldn't be a problem as long as not real wide. 285/75R17s are 11.22" wide (and 33.8" in diameter); the 275s I have are 10.83" wide, so that's a .4" difference. Doesn't seem all that much.

Yes, I'm aware that truck rakes vary. I'd recommend calling Kevin to get his input. He's as talkative as he is knowledgeable.

Let us know how it goes.

What tire are you going with I was thinking about going the 285 75 17 route myself but I think I might try out the wildpeak at in a 315 70 17 which is just over 34 tall and under 12 wide according thier website.

I am going to go with the Toyo Open Country AT II. I have had really good luck with Toyo Tires. I was/ am still kind of debating on getting the 285/70/17. Because they are 13 lbs lighter per tire, and slightly smaller so the revs per mile are closer to the factory tires. But I like the fact that the 285/75/17 have a 3 ply sidewall like the MT's do, and they have more shoulder on the sidewall.

I used the AS kit on the last F-150 I had (2004 model) and never had a single problem out of it. On my 2013 I have a Zone Offroad 2" front spacer with a taller block in the rear and I am clearing 295/70R18 Trail Grapps with zero issues. Zone also has excellent customer service.
