2009 NEW transmission issue

Ok guys, i have an 09 f150 screw with 58000 miles on it. Just three months ago I had the tranny flashed because of harsh shifting. Afterward I had a really odd miss on a trip from Ohio to Disneyworld. It only happened for about 3 seconds and then has never missed ago. The tranny smoothed out nicely and I figured the computer had a brain fart. I had absolutely no issues with shifting until yesterday. While driving to school (after work) I left off the gas to turn left into the drive, which has an apron like at the end of your driveway. When I let off the brake it was like the truck was holding the gear and it surged. So after school I drove home, and turn right onto my road it did it again. Afterward I couldnt get it to duplicate. Today after work I tried to duplicate it and it did it again at roughly the same spot, I applied my brakes to make the right turn, the truck downshifted and basically held the throttle at 1200 rpm. It was pulling along pretty nicely by itself, I tapped the gas and it reved up and shifted immediately. I called the dealer and they said they would look at it, but while on the phone I asked about anything to look for or try, he recommeneded unhooking the battery to see if it made a difference so I did. I drove it to school after the battery was unhooked for 20 minutes and it didnt do it again after trying to duplicate it probably 20 times. Does anyone have any idea what it would be? I dont want to hear the great, "we couldnt find anything wrong" which Im sure will through a code at 60,001 miles the way my luck works! So fast forward a week, Ive driven my truck around now with the issue not happening anymore. Today going to school again turning into the parking lot the issue happened again. What Im wondering is, does the truck use engine braking without the tow/haul on? Going down the road to turn into the parking lot is slightly downhill. Could it just be engine braking as Im turning and revving up? Once I tap the gas or brake it goes ahead and upshifts, almost like its holding the gear to slow down. Does anyone have any input?

To an extent, the truck will use "engine braking" without tow/haul. When everything is working properly, it's barely noticeable because it's actually more along the lines of normal down-shifting. Your issue doesn't sound normal, and considering your mileage, you should get it to the dealer ASAP.

Documentation, documentation, documentation! Even if they do tell you nothing is wrong, get the issue documented before the warranty is up. This could help you in the long run if need be.

It sounds like a reflash is in order. There have been a few updates for these transmissions. Have you had them reflash the TCM? This could fix your problem as it doesn't really sound like a hardware problem to me.

When was the last time the tranny fluid was changed, better yet, swapped? With these higher temp running 6 speeds, I think it would be a good idea to have the fluid swapped at least every 60k miles. I'll be swapping mine every 30k. Then again, I'm old-school like that.

Let us know what you find out, but I'd definitely take it to the dealer. Don't take "no" for an answer!

Good luck!

I havent changed the tranny fluid, gotta save up some coin for that one! I have the TCM reflashed in June and it really helped with the abrupt 1 to 2 shift. I think that that Im going to have to have it flashed again. I just dont understand why it doesnt do it anywhere else (most of the time!) but religously does it at the same spot.

I guess I should add that it almost feels like the old "surge" before the tranny was reflashed the first time. Except one of the times it held the rpm up at about 1500 and was pulling without any throttle input! As soon as I touched the gas it upshifted and took all throttle out.
