Looking to buy this Lariat. Am I missing anything?
Looking to buy this Lariat. Am I missing anything?
Hey guys,
I have been shopping around for a truck that has all the stuff I want.
Ecoboost
Long Bed
Max Tow
502a
I found this one that has a 501a package but they added a bunch of options. Am I missing anything that a 502a would have?
So far all I can tell is I don't get the HID headlights and Sony sound system....
Price on this truck is $41K. But I am told I have to add $1000 if I don't have a trade in and another $1000 if i don't finance through FMCC. So that basically brings the price to $43K. Does that sound Legit to you guys?
Thanks

You are right. The Sony and HID are all you're missing from the package deal.
If you got the 502A package it would be $890. more and you would get the Sony and HID.
On this deal I'd like to see them come down more on price. At $43k it's only 15% off. I want to see 20 to 25% off.
If you want the 502A I wouldn't settle because the price isn't that great. I know these are harder to find but you should be able to find it. If it was me I would keep looking.

Thanks. They are giving me the thats as low as they can go routine.
I did find another truck at another dealer with the 502A package that was $39K. I am not crazy about the white though. Maybe I can use this to negotiate price with them though. Is it worth holding out for the Sony system?

Keep looking. A Ford dealer down here has a 2013 F150 Platinum Ecoboost F150 Crew Cab 6.5 bed for 45K. They have had it for over 6 months. 43 for a Lariat is insane. Have you considered the FX trucks. Cheaper and you get the cool dark head and tail lights. As far as options I believe they can be very similiar. Plus the all black interiors option on the appearance package is sweet.
I special ordered mine and ended up paying 42k for it, but it's loaded as it can get for an FX4. The normal is around 42-43k those two trucks you listed should be going for around 41k.

Above is the window sticker on the Plat I just purchased. Second one in 6 months. I visited Weibold once and will not return. Besides standing around ignored for about 30 minutes, the sales guy didn't even know what rear well liners were. Then they wanted me to buy pretty much right away. I didn't appreciate their haste. I buy my trucks at a small (and longstanding) Ford dealership in central WA. No bs, a respectable price, and a great buying experience.
This truck was not on their lot (it was about 150 miles away). They are charging me nothing in transport. If they don't have it on the lot, they will get it or arrange a build (but not for much longer on the 2013s).
Added to the above sticker will be the spray-in liner (they do a great job, $385), bed extender ($365), full-coverage rubber floor mats ($95). Bottom line price is $46,500 (before ttl) and what I believe will be a $5,000 trade-in. This is a 2013 Plat, 3.55, 5.5, moonroof, skid plates, folding tonneau cover, tailgate step, rear well liners. And, of course, full Sony audio and NAV, HIDs, power running boards, and all other things that come on a Plat. Box side steps are n/a on 5.5.
This dealer's finance manager used to work at Weibold and certainly knows what he is doing. Everything was in order upon paperwork signing.
Send me a PM if you care to visit about your choice. Hope it works out well.

Yeah. I like the FX4 too. But I have been unable to find one with Max Tow.
What really irks me is they want to charge $1000 since I don't have a trade in. So I have cash to send and it costs me more???
It seems that the Lariat's around here with 502A/Max Tow are all priced between $39-44k with all the discounts. But like I said I loose $2k because of no trade and I don't want to use FMCC. Would rather just go through my credit union.

For me the 502 group has one feature that would make it a necessity for me - powerfolding and telescoping mirrors. Those are some big effing mirrors and having to get out and fold them in yourself anytime you went to park in a tight spot or a garage would get old real quick.....
Enjoyed visiting with you.
Whatever you choose, I'm pretty sure you will be pleased. Bear in mind that 3.73s in our area of the country are not plentiful; 3.55s on most. If the (huge) dealer sales guy doesn't know what rear well liners are ... that's DQ right there (not one of their 200 or so F-150s had them, unreal). Bolts in the bed need to be removed before spray-in. Not all do that.
A couple of other ideas, which you may already have considered:
Replacing the orange forward-facing reflectors on the mirrors with Recon turn signal LEDs (mine are smoked, which meshes nicely with the black mirror body). This is a job that takes some time, care, feeding wires, attaching connectors and splices, soldering ... but, no cutting of factory wires ... and is terrific when complete. It's an extra set of turn signals that are mostly invisible.
Replacing the third taillight with the Recon unit. The factory tail is fine, except for the gasket (a certifiable piece of junk; still have to check my lower tail assemblies). It's flimsy foam and, being mounted vertically, is ripe for leakage (well documented). The smoked Recon unit is all LED, far heavier construction, and has a very dense rubber gasket. This one has three connectors, does require splicing and soldering, about a 20-minute job. Glad I got mine done before any moisture had a chance. Painted the screwheads semi-gloss black, too.
The interior lights from the factory put out a nice dull yellow that light pretty much nothing. I switched to Daytimebrightlites LEDs for the maps and dome. Switch on just one of those maps and you can see the entire front. The front map lenses aren't hard to remove ... the lamps aren't so easy ... I use a dental pick to pull them (when the power is off, of course). The dome cover is a bit counter-intuitive to remove. Dental pick (or real small screwdriver) to pull forward at the front when you are thinking backwards. After that, rear lamp replacement with the LED array is simple. HUGE difference over factory.
The stock puddle lights had to go ... same dull yellow that went nowhere. Went with Daytimebrightlites LEDs on those, too. Lights up my 6.5' boards all their length. They also give you (free) LED replacements for the rear license plate lamps.
Truck lights are bright white both inside and out. I know some folks go nuts with lights. Just wanted a few things that were both functional and better.
Forgot to add: 19.9mpg from Boise to SLC area (370 miles) at 73-75mph; 18.3 (avg total mpg, with about 50 miles city driving between) after the return trip at 80-82. This is the 5.0, 3.55, 6.5, empty.
