swirl-marks in dashboard bezel - is this normal?

Hello everyone;

About 3 weeks ago I took delivery of a brand new FX2 and noticed - especially with the sun shining in the dashboard - a lot of swirl marks.

I assumed they were put there by the dealership during detailing and after bringing it to their attention, they said they'd order a new one and swap it out. The new part arrived this past Wednesday and after leaving it there overnight, I was able to pick it back up on Thursday.

I was hoping all would be well, but even this new screen shows a lot of fine swirl marks. I know they replaced it since the other screen had a little chip, but seeing once again swirl marks puzzles me.

It is really only visible in direct sunlight and I am wondering if it is perhaps in the plastic and not on the surface.

See a picture below ... is this normal?

Looks like shoddy detail work. I blow the dust off mine with my air compressor before I wipe it with a soft, clean microfiber. I'm **** like that. You can probably get most of the fine scratches out with a good plastic polish.

That is what I thought initially as well, but the new screen they installed had the same swirl marks. (See pics). I spoke with the tech who installed it and he said he did not clean or wipe it in any way.

I had mine replaced for same issue - twice. New one(s) no better. Just lightly clean it w/ microfiber.

Thought about taking I out and polishing, but don't think I'd get rid of scratches.

I've never seen one without scratches like that. It's so minor and doesn't affect visibility of the gauges at all

My 2012 FX4 had them too. I used Mequirs headlight restore for removal of surface marks. Got rid of most of them but some are on the other side of the panel. So I just live with it. Seems to be an random issue.

Mine looks the same, dealer redfused to warranty it under 36/36. Stated I must have scratched it while cleaning. (B.S) Well, if a new one looks the same looks like I saved myself a little frustration.
