Help with AT tire decision

2010 platinum 4x4
2" leveling kit
20" rims

I am torn between BF Goodrich AT/KO in 308/55R20 and Toyo open country AT2 in 35/12.5 R20

I am strictly going for ride, looks and wear. Never take this truck off-road
Nitto's are available but the dealer likes the other two more.

Thx

Both good tires that I have used before. I have a set of the Toyo AT II tires, but mine are stock, 275/55R20" size. They've been on since January and I am really happy with them...very quiet, handle well, and show no signs of wear yet. My two sons opted for the larger size (305/55R20) on their F-150s and they both rub on the insides on tight turns. I'm pretty sure that the size you're looking at would rub even more. If he had it to do over again, I know one of my sons would have gone for the 295/55R20 size. It would still fill up the wheel opening w/o rubbing. They're 2" shorter than the tire you spec, and around 1/4" narrower.

May I suggest the cooper zeon ltz's?

50k mileage wear. Quite ride. Great looks. Cheaper than most.

I had them on my last f150 or around 60k miles. I love them. Will be installing on my current truck.

the 12.5 inch wide tires when used on stock rims rub on the a arm, so a level wont help much. its usually only at full lock, not a big deal, and happens more with mud tires with big side lugs.

bfg, toyo, and nitto are all great brands. i swear by toyo. mts last 50k miles and the at will last even longer. super quiet also. bfg is not a bad choice either and will last almost as long and also be quiet. the bfg at has a different look than other at tires though, so you should probably look at that and use that in your decision process.

nitto is not a bad tire at all. wont last quite as long as toyo or bfg, but is a great tire none the less.

Thx again. If the tread pattern was similar between the toyo & BF's, the decision would be easier. Still flipping back & forth on the decision. I'm leaving for an elk hunt in a few weeks and have to have something for that 20+ hour drive. !

I love the BFG's. I have a buddy who put on Nitto Tera's and got rid of them after 6,000 miles and went back to BFG AT. He says the ride and feel is so much better with BFG's. The Toyo's are also very nice, but from what I've read they are a tad bit noisier on the highway and will spit rocks out of the tread a little more than BFG's. The BFG's will also spit rocks, just the toyo will do it even more. As mentioned earlier, BFG's have a tread pattern & bitchin sidewall nobody else has. That's always a plus and gets my vote. Coopers didn't have anything in my size.

Here's mine. A 285/55/20 (32.5" by 11.1" wide).I have no level on the truck.

I vote BFGoodrich.

I have them on my 2007 with a 2" level. 305/65R18

The 305/65R18 is 12.2" wide and 33.7" tall.
The 305/55R20 is 12.4" wide and 33.4" tall.

They are pretty close. I would expect minimal rubbing at full lock.

BFG'S all the way I have had six sets over three vehicles and never had a set with less than 100k before being replaced. All were E range tires so the ride is rough but that is how I like it. Its a F150 not a Fusion.

The toyos offer a tread wear warranty (65k on P/ 50k on LT) where as the BFG AT KO does not offer a tread wear warranty. Something else to chew on.

thx for making my decision even harder

i love the look of the cooper ltz even better than the BF's. They are priced between teh Toyo's and BFG's.. Seriously considering the 305/55/R20..
