will 295-60/20 work with 2" level and stock 20's

Ok please bear with me. I have searched and read the forums and am still clueless to a lot of this stuff. I have a 2013 FX4 Screw, 20" stock wheels and the Perelli ATR's on them. I am looking at doing a 2" level in the front (autospring probably based on the comments here), and probably a 295 60/20 Nitto Terra Grappler or Toyo AT2.

My questions is is there a need for a spacer? I am not trying to break the bank, but just wanting a level truck and a little more agressive and larger tire. I am new to this kind of stuff and confused. I want to keep the stock wheels and simply add the 2" front level and the 295 60/20's.

2 places I have called said the 20" stock wheels will not work with that size tire and level kit....am I missing something?

Thanks for helping a newbie out!

I just looked up the specs on that tire,

LT295/60R20 E126Q 34.45 12.36 8.0-(8.5)-10.0

Its basically a 34.5" tire that is 12.4" wide. Nitto recommends a 8.5" wide wheel which is what the factory 20's are.

Its slightly smaller than what I ran on factory 20's. I ran a 35x12.50x20 nitto trail grappler with a 3" autospring. I had some rubbing at full lock but nothing I couldn't live with.

Thanks 05red...would a 1/4" spacer help here? Or not make a difference?

spacers are a sort of last resort. he had mud terrains with large side lugs to where you have all terrains, so the problem may not even occur at all, plus your tires are narrower.

in response to your original question, with a 2 inch level you will almost guaranteed be good to go. but with no level i couldnt tell you.

I'm running 295/70/18 Trail Grapplers on stock wheels, and leveled 2010, and have no issues at all. According to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html My tires are slightly larger than the ones you want.

Re: will 295-60/20 work with 2" level and stock 20's

295-60/20 with 2" level and stock 20's worked for me with no rubbing and no trimming but not every truck has the same stance or amount of rake when stock, so the results may vary. I've seen others like Devin4x4 who had to trim a little plastic and others who got a slight rub when turned to full lock. Neither of those issues are big deals, I'd still go for it.

Easy project? On an automobile? No such thing exists! Just kiddin, good luck. It might be a bit of a pain, but it's pretty straight forward

That is one of the nicest trucks I have ever seen. Its nice to see a supercab FX4 for a change. Do you have the luxury package or did you just add the 20's. I am currently on the 18 inch wheels. What leveling kit are you running? I am going for a similiar look on my 12 FX4 supercab.
