For the transmission question, post under in the "transmission" section under "powertrain and mechanical" forum. For the towing mirrors, do you mean stock style towing mirrors with painted caps? Having trouble understanding what you mean

are you talking about the kind that slide on your mirrors to make them towing mirrors? Or are you talking about factory tow mirrors?

I know it's not specifically for an F150, but just to get an idea

Try the **** addons. I had them for my 2004 F150 and they were very nice. They look stock once they are installed.

I don't think it matters that your mirrors are painted, but you might need to look into that and confirm they are OK.

they work great too.

My 2012 has the towing mirrors. I never made measurements, but I'm fairly certain the old **** add-ons actually stuck out a little further than my tow mirrors.

With my new truck I can see all the way down the side of my 30' camper, but I can't really see the rear corners clearly. With the old truck and the **** mirrors I could actually see the rear corners. Hopefully that makes sense.

But with the new truck at least I don't have to worry about forgetting the mirrors in the garage. I just keep forgetting to slide out the tow mirrors...

I was about to say just slide your mirrors out and they have to be out farther that the ****'s haha. I've really been wanting to put OEM towing mirrors on my '06 and I don't even tow often, just like being able to see everything
