Which truck

I am looking at a couple different trucks. Need some help deciding. The first one is a 2013 F150 FX4. Pretty much bone stock. I would want to add a small lift or at least a leveling kit with wheels and tires along with fender flares.

The second choice is a 2010 F250 King Ranch Diesel. It has 40k miles on it and cost about $5k more than the F150, but I would be content to leave it the way it is. It appears to be in great shape.

I will use this as a daily driver along with weekend trips around the city and some multi hour trips. I do not plan to tow anything or even do much off-roading. I just want a nice truck.

So my question is, if you were picking one of these 2 trucks, which would you go with. I am aware that maintenance would be a little more on the F250 and am taking that into consideration as well.

Daily driver, no towing? Don't even think about a 2007+ diesel. They are money pits.

I have been reading about that for a few minutes now. I really like the 250 KR better, but I am gettin spooked by all the bad info. Before, I was spooked by all the bad publicity about mysync and the 6 speed transmissions.

Ditto! I've had both, also that big truck is a pain in the *** in city - parking, maneuvering etc. Go with 150, I believe you'll be happier.

+2, I'd go with the NEW F-150, especially given your intended use of the vehicle. Also if you go new you can find exactly the right one for you!! Year end 2013 is coming soon and they will be slashing prices!

For what you want the f150 would be the best bet. The diesel is going to cost a lot more in maintenance, the 6.4 is not as reliable (7.3), you don't plan on hauling, diesel is a lot more than gas, mileage would be better in the f150. On the other side, the diesel makes a lot more torque, easily tune it and make hundred or so more hp, easy to lift, if it wasn't ur daily driver and u did haul, sure would be nice to have. Lol

The new F-150 version of MFT with Sync gets no publicity because it is a different version with a set of ***** and works fine. The 6 speed issues were on the 09-10 and have been resolved.

Thanks for all the info. I went with the 2013 F150. I got a sterling grey 4x4 ecoboost Lariat model. Paid $38.5k with 2.9% financing. payments are $590 per month with the warranty. Guess it's time to change my signature.

Well, not much use for me to reply since you already got the truck, but I think you made the right choice. I have an '08 F250 diesel (had an '05 F150 before it), and if I didn't need the F250 to tow my fifth wheel, I would trade it for an F150 in a heartbeat! I've had no issues with the diesel other than the higher cost of fuel, it's just that the truck FEELS a lot bigger, drives bigger, rides bigger, etc. and if you don't need it for towing, don't buy it.

Congrats on the new truck! Enjoy!
