Just bought a 2013 xlt 5.0L scab offroad pkg, now dont get me wrong, i like the truck, with just me, the girl and our dog, its enough space for now, but if in say 2-3 yrs the family starts, then im sure i'll want the screw. (just couldnt see myself in it just yet)

My Plan is to pay it down as much as poss., so not upside down, and take it from there. I kinda like the idea of a 3yr old truck, so maybe in 2014 -2015 trade up for a used 2013 5.0L screw.

I know im taking the biggest hit depreciation wise in the first year, but you guys have any experiences trading or selling a relatively new truck for used?

A scab will hold a car seat if needed. I'd say wait it out and trade down the road.

It depends. If you have someplace to store the stock exhaust, I would.

 

Lots of things can happen in a 3 year span and your wants and needs will change in that time.

By that time, you might need a mini-van for your tripletts.

 

My 2 cents is enjoy the ride you have now. If your requirements change, address them then. In the mean time, you have what you need. Cheers!

 

Wait. Trade it in one year after the all new 2015 debuts for a 2016. 2015 debuts this coming January.

 

I have traded a '09 Accord for a '10 F-150, a '10 for a '12 and a '12 for '13. If you bought the truck right and have it financed right you should be fine. I have always picked up around $2,000 in equity to put on the new one.

Just keep it until you need to upgrade and don't worry about it. I will never have another Scab most likely.... Once you Screw you never go back...

I've got a 2009 Ext cab...I'm 6ft 2in tall and 250lb's, my wife is 5ft 8in (respectfully leaving her weight out), and we have a tall 11 and a 7yr-old who, all at the same time, still fit comfortably in the truck. I'm thinking I've got another 2-3yrs before the 11yr old outgrows the back seat.

 

I think Scab's look better than Screws. My GF's kids really like the 'suicide doors'.

In '10 the Scab option ended with the XLT, so I bought a loaded XLT Scab and have plenty of room for me and my stuff. Plus lots less cost.

I looked at Screws but they are just too big on the inside for my taste.

If'n my kids were still around and young (3) I'd probably change my mind or get a mini-van.

What I really need now is a "Easy Rider Rifle Rack" as seen in the film.
