How much pool sand in bed?

I normality us a trailer and get about 1000lbs of sand to set the pool up with but don't have it with me. Any experience with how much i can safely put in the bed. Bone stock 2010. About 12 miles on 2lane hiway to the house.

Thanks!

Read your GVWR on the door or door frame of the drivers side. My assumption would be around 1200 to 1400 pounds....

Good God! How big is your pool?! But the GVWR minus your weight will tell you

That's my bad, I was thinking salt for the pool haha. I was thinkin of how the most salt I've put in our pool was 120 pounds or so. Salt and sand are NOT the same . . .

You'd be fine loading a yard of sand in the bed.

12 miles on 2 lane road is no sweat if you are over GVWR, I just wouldn't load it to the bump stops.

my buddy had his Superduty in the body shop and used his camry to pick up 500lbs of sand. He put all the bags in the trunk and did just fine. I think you'll be just fine with a F150 doubling that weight. If you think about it, it's just like hauling 5 people in your truck bed.

I had over 1500 pounds of concrete mix in the back of my 01 screw with the 5.4L. It squatted a little bit but it didn't give me any problems driving it home, i did have an add-a-leaf though. And i think my 2010 screw would handle it even better.

A yard is not a lot of sand, but it is HEAVY. Depending on moisture content, figure 2500 lbs,

2500# is way over limits, but as long as it's a short slow drive and it's not on the bump stops you should be okay.

It handled the 1600#s no problem. Hardly squatted at all.
