Nah. You hope they total that. You don't want it back after that kind of hit, probably frame damage there. Thats why you have insurance. Try and get some xl parts and swap what you can off it. Hope you made out alright health wise guy thats a bad hit.

Insurance company would not total the truck. $20k in damage. New rear, springs, shocks, drivers rim and tire, back door, front door, exhaust from cats back, truck bed and whole truck was clear coated and wet sanded. Thrust angle on alignment is -0.20. Spec is 0.50 +/-. I had that checked at 2 different shops. No dog walking and truck rides true and actually looks better than before the accident. Problem is its diminished value. truck bluebook is 33k, because of the frame work the most I can get is 22k on a trade in or sell it outright for 24k. A lose of at least 9 to 10k. Im going after the guy for that lose. Hell I plan on keeping it till I crock anyway, lol. It just sucks though. The friggin idiot was texting when he hit me. I was going 50 and he was going 50 towards me and when I seen that he wasn't looking I swerved over to the opposite lane and thats where he smacked me. The idiot went across one lane to hit me in a piece of crap old Hunda. Just my luck. I got alittle wipe lash but thats about it. Spun me twice and stopped looking the other way.

Depends on the state, but you may be able to go after the insurance company for diminished value.

I would go after him also That is BS. Something could happen in your life where you need to sell the truck tomorrow. Its like he took money right out of your wallet.

Wow, what a shame and I'm happy to hear you are doing OK. I'd be contacting the insurance company about the diminished value - especailly since it was close to being totaled but they wouldn't do it. My 2005 Lariat Screw 4x4 got hit when it was 1 yr old and bent the front frame rail...insurance wouldn't total and once I got it back it was never the same - OK around town but shimmied/wobbled at higher speeds on the freeway - I traded it shortly after. I hope yours is truly back to normal and you don't have any drivability issues - good luck!!
