How do you take the chrome handle out of the silver trim?

 

You have to remove the door panel to access the clips so that you can remove the handle mechanism. However, I'm not sure if that's the question you're asking. I don't believe the handle mechanism is a serviceable part but I'm not sure.

That's what I was thinking too. When my truck was new, I took my door panels off to install PTM outside handles, and I don't remember the inside handle assemblies appearing serviceable.
