SuperCab Owners?
SuperCab Owners?
Hi guys. I haven't posted in here in quite a while since I have been in the GMC camp for the last few years. I am currently looking at trading in my '11 Sierra CC for a '13 F-150 SuperCab with the 6.5 bed. I pulled up the specs and I am only going to lose about 4" of rear leg room going from a cc to a sc. My question to you SuperCab owners is do you really miss or need the extra room? I want the SC because I want the longer bed and still have the ability to fit in my garage. A SuperCrew 6.5 would not fit. What are your thoughts/opinions?
All my previous trucks where SCabs and have my first and last CCab now. Wanted the 6.5 bed, which made the truck over a foot longer then I'm used to. The SCab's are plenty big for me and i find the CCabs bigger then i like them. After all, i want a truck to have room in the back for tools and equipment and not really for hauling people. If i need to haul passengers, I'll take the wife's vehicle.
ONLY reason i went with the CCab is because i wanted the Harley or Plat version.

Most of the time it is only my kids in the back of the truck. They do not complain about the room. My wife does not like that she needs to open her door to let the kids out of the back.
The reason I bought the SCab is to get the 6.5' bed without getting the longer wheelbase.

Hmmm. This sounds very familiar. Complaining wife vs. my truck... truck vs. wife... what to do... Hmmm

Get her a 4 door car and use that when you go out as a family.
I looked at Crew Cabs before buying my Super.
Divorced, family is raised and moved on.
Just me , the dog and the cat and neither one of them have ever complaiined about the room in the back.
Just get an underseat storage bin for the back seat and between that and the 5 gallon console, you'll have plenty of room for storing things.
I've rid two of my 200lb pals around for 4 hrs at a time and they never complained either, but I did adjust my seat forward a couple of inches.

If you regularly put people/kids in the back seat then get the SuperCrew. If your backseat is usually empty (or just holding minimal items) then a SuperCab is OK.
I had a SuperCab and it worked for everything I needed... then I got married and had a kid... getting a kid in and out of the back seat is a pain when you are in parking lots. If you can't open the front door wide open then you have to do a little dance to get things in and out.
Now I have a SuperCrew and it is much easier since I regularly get kids in and out of the backseat.

Well I went and test drove the SuperCab today and I was honestly impressed. I've driven my dads 2010 Platinum many times and I was surprised at the difference between the 5.4 and the 5.0. I got in the back seat and adjusted the front enough that I had room and then got in the front and it was still comfortable. Sat down with the salesman and I think we came to an agreement on the numbers but I'm going to have to sit down and crunch some more numbers. They offered the new one out the door at $39,500 from a sticker of $46,710 so I am pretty impressed with that. What do you think?
