Need some help choosing new tail lights...

I can't decide which ones will look the best. It's for a black FX4...

Neither, black hd/raptor lights. I'm assuming you have an 09/10 since that's what your Ebay search shows you, meaning you have the clear tails like i did. I swapped them for the hd's, much better.

That's what i was going to do at first but I just don't like the clear ring around them and dont want to have to TRY and paint them and have them look good

I went with Harley lights from Tasca. No regrets.

I have been eyeballing the top set you have there for my Lariat, so obviously it is my personal favorite....

Ditto, exactly what I did and the rubber seal around the lens is dark gray not white like on the original (non Raptor) stock units. I was prepared to paint them but once received they were so much better than the stock white I didn't even need to paint them. I paid approx $155/for the new OEM SET (PAIR). They came in sealed Ford OEM packaging....also note on the Raptor taillights the internal is gloss black (not chrome) like the stock units - that helps tone them down as well...search for my recent post or go to my gallery and search "HotLap" and see the before and after comparison pictures...keep in mind the after pic is in the bright sunlight the seals are actually dark gray - they just look lighter in the bright sun.

My personal preference (did it on mine as well) is the HD/Raptor tails. Especially if you're staying with stock headlights and 3rd brake light. If you end up going halos in front, then I feel you should go LED tails. If you go LED tails, I think you need to get the LED 3rd brake light or at the very least tint it. It is simple to paint the clear plastic lip on the HD tails. I also have a black FX4. Of the 2 you posted, its hard for me to see a real difference. The second one just looks like its on or has light shining on it.

Would you happen to have a pic of your tinted 3rd brake light?
