I live in Maine. I just built a 2013 FX4 online with the same options as mine and the MSRP is about $3k more than the MSRP was on my 2011 FX4.

2013 XLT 4x4 Ecoboost super crew. 302a luxury package. Cloth buckets. 3.55 Locking diff. Tailgate step. Tuxedo black with adobe interior.
All for 30850 before ttl.

Could be happier!
You couldn't go wrong with either. Best of luck with it ! Lets see some pics!

Partial to the FX4 myself. I started with an 02XLT and moved up to an 07 FX4. Yes, different body styles, but now that I own an FX4 I'll never go back. The trim alone makes it look much better IMO. Not to mention the "floor shifter!" Curious to see what you chose. Probably can't go wrong with either one. It’s probably a matter of opinion for the most part.

Only thing I cared much for on my FX4 was the fact it had the rear ac vents. When you got kids back there and you live in texas its a very big bonus. Miss the heck out of them in my XLT but seen no reason to spend so much more for them. Besides the ac's in the 2012's are leaps and bounds better than the 2007.

My '10 XLT has vents under the front seats for the rear passengers.

The feature is still there, just delivered differently.

FX4 has under seat floor vents AND the center console vents. It gives you much better air flow to the back.

On my 2012 XLT I just have to point some of the front vents up over the seats to help cool the back seat. And yes, I usually run it on vent and floor so the back seat floor vents are moving air.

Looking good. 23 mpg on a 4x4 is great. Good ol' EcoBoost does it again.

I will for sure need a 4x4 and the truck will see a fair amount of highways miles too so any mpg help i can get is good. My budget will not allow a Lariat or FX4 with leather so I'm down to either a loaded XLT or a FX4 with the black cloth seats.

Truck #1
2013 Fx4 Supercrew with 5.0
- black cloth seats
-401a package
-3.55 gears
-18inch wheels

Truck #2
2013 XLT Supercrew with 3.5L Ecoboost
-cloth bucket seats with non-flow trough console
-302a Luxury package
-offroad package with 3.55 gears
-18inch wheels

both have backup sensors and camera, power rear window.

anyone have the black cloth fx4 seats? do they get hot in the summer? i live in texas so that is a concern.

Which would you choose and why?
Nice truck!

I like the XLT much better than the FX4 so I feel you made the right decision. Good luck with your truck.

The only reason I got an XLT over the FX4 was the center console allows another small person to sit and I needed the room. Otherwise I would have gone with the FX4. You really can't go wrong either way.
