X2 There is a guy on Ebay that sells painted emblems.

I painted my emblems tuxedo black with silver letters. Although the flash from the camera makes the letters appear white.

Nassty, looks good, how did you get the emblem apart to paint to match? I have the Tuxedo black in spray cans would love to try this myself!

I picked up some 04-05 emblems which are flatter than 06-12 emblems and don't have raised letters so they are easier to put overlays on. I had some tux black made in a spray can. I primed and painted the emblems, then I put some silver overlays on them. The overlays didn't have a background, they just had a silver oval ring and the Ford letters. Then I laid on several coats of clear with my spray gun, wet sanded and buffed them.

Thanks Mike, did get your PM. I had thought there was a way to peel off the emblem and spray or change out the blue background for black?

Yes, I just replied back. I don't think they come apart but I'm not sure?? I scuffed and painted the outside of the emblems.

If you want QUALITY billet aluminum emblems instead of vinyl overlays you should go here: http://www.billetbadges.com/products_ovals/

www.f150forums.com Member there "Moody Blue" custom makes them in any color you like. Very nice overlays, at a very reasonable price.

He also make inlays for the fender, and tailgate emblems that look really good.
