power steering fluid cooler

power steering fluid cooler

Anybody notice the power steering hoses connected to the radiator? Seems its the top 2 rows on radiator.

2010 f150 4x4

Thought the 2010s had a electric power steering??

My guess is you are seeing the transmission lines to the radiator. Have nevr seen the PS run through the radiator. Usually the run lines either through it's own cooler or just run the lines across the front cross member to get the cooling.

The power steering cooler is part of the AC condenser that sits next to the radiator.

They used to have their own separate cooler ( a lot like a transmission cooler ) but I think it started in 2008 that combined them. I don't believe they do it anymore. When the line starts to leak inside the condenser...some people actually just divert the lines before the condenser into an aftermarket power steering or transmission cooler. Not an approved method for dealerships but a very common one due to cost
