Couple of nits...

Really liking my 13 Plat so far except for...
1) Used the wipers 1st time today and you can feel them cycle when using the brakes...really? Has anyone found a fix for this?
2) Rear seat headrests are quite fugly. Had one apart and thinking about shortening them a couple of inches. Mechanicall could be done but going to check with an upoltery shop about making the stock covers fit to size. That, or ordering a pair from an older model...

The 5.0 engine is sweet, seems more eager/smoother than the 5.4 that was in my '09 and '05!!

3) Anyone remove thier "Flex Fuel" badging yet - I'm planning on doing this but not if there are guide holes under the badging??

1) I have not noticed this issue on mine. 2011 FX4 w/ 5L.
2) I do not like the heardrest heights either but those heights from I can recall are dictated by the feds.
3) From what I can recall when I worked at DTP in the paint shop, the tailgates did not come with guide holes where the flex fuel badging is.

Hope this helps.

1) I have the same thing happening with my 12 FX4..used to it now i guess.
2)Those headrests are stupidly large
3)No holes behind the badge, mine is removed.

I know my 07 had shorter rear headrests. I personally thought the one's in my 11 would block too much of the rear view. But to me, they really don't have much of an effect. If you have to change them, visit a local wrecking yard or ebay to find some earlier ones.

The '09's have small rear head rests... I'd guess if you could find some they could be swapped out.

yeah, the rear headrests are large but I really like the fold feature so you can clean the rear window a lot easier now (compared to my 2011 Plat).

great idea about just swapping them out and saving the stock ones for the time being. This route would be much easier and I'm betting I can find a black/charcoal set from an '09! Thanks, couldn't see the forest for the trees!

I am going to take mine out and toss them in the garage like I did my 2010 ones.

1. Yep, can feel the cycle. Pretty common as I have read.
2. I just folded mine down. But they can be removed I think. If their like my '11, just push the two little thingys on the side of the plastic surround and pull 'em out.
3. You can use some fishing line, and a hair drier. Warm up the emblem, work the fishing line back/forth to cut the adhesive. Then a little Goo-Gone, and wax.
I haven't done it yet, but have plans too. I'm retired, and it's just hard to get it all done.

Thanks gents for the feedback, good to know there are no holes under the flexfuel badging. One more "nit" to add to the list, whoever wrapped my underhood wiring loom was having a very bad day. Very sloppy wrap job and in places you can see the wires underneath. Not critical, just sloppy for a $50K truck! I also ordered the rear wheel well liners as when I was changing out the stock tailamp lenses for the Raptor set - there was road spray/dirt kicked up from the rear wheels all over the back of the lense housings...not sure why Ford thinks that's a good thing...couple of nice rock chips and rust would set in under there. The Raptor/HD Tails are a definite improvement as they don't have that bright grey/white edge gasket and the gloss black accents (rather than the chrome) go much better with my black truck! Best $153 (set) I've spent on mods in a while

I've got the wheel well liners, you'll be glad you did. It cleans the area up nicely, plus keeps the dirt and crap from going all over.

If you get the pics up, please take some of the Raptor tails. I'm thinking birthday present.........
