NEW new truck

got a letter from my local ford dealership about trading in my lariat that i just bought in March. I put 20k on it, and someone backed a trailer into my bumper that put a golfball size dent.... and they said they would pay more than market price. the letter says "i understand your'e driving a truck that I need. im willing to pay more than market value if you trade it in"

so question is, do i trade?!?!?! for a new lariat or fx2....

and second, other dealership just quoted me 11,000 off an fx2...

do i go back to the first dealership and tell them to beat that price?

and again, do i trade in my 2012 for another 2012...

i wouldn't trade that soon....either dealer will cost you thousands...unless you got a problem truck on your hands
whenever there are such good rebates on new, trade in values take a beating

figured as such, got off the phone with the manager and he said it was a botched marketing campagin, someone screwed up. only figured if they could put me in the same truck i was in now but less of a note it would have been worth it

They got in touch with me AGAIN. They're a little lower on the price and I'm liking the idea or lower notes.... But I LOVE my truck

It's the same dealership, lafourche ford? If so, I talked to Jude about it. I'm really thinking about going trade though, just to get my note lower. Would help with my house note

I got the same letter and phone call back in the fall. I went and talked to the guy at the dealership for entertainment and just as I thought their offer sucked!

It is a simple marketing campaign. Dealerships make money on the new truck, they make money on your trade. If its something that fits your needs, great. Don't do it just because they sent you a flier.....

Yeah, not going back to them. There's a sweet king ranch up the street that I like the color of and me and my fiancé talked about it, and the cheaper notes would be better. Looked at don bohn and Robinson brothers so far.
