does this 09 fx4 sound like a good deal

Truck has 35000 miles and clean carfax. We are at $29000 right now. Only issue I have so far are the tires. They don't have much life left in my opinion. They will level it and align it as part of deal. I am thinking about selling the cap and putting towards tires if we can't come to an agreement. Interior is clean and seems to be in pretty good shape. I'm also headed to another dealer after lunch to look at a blue flame fx4. Name: File0_049863_800600_zps462e209d.jpg

Does it have leather, NAV, etc? 29k is a bit steep. They are almost asking for the max ammount on blue book. If they came down 2-3k it would be better.

Leather, no navigation. Just talked to the guy with the 2010 and he said he's at 32000.00 with room to negotiate with 12000 miles on the truck. Seems like a better deal

Unless you really need to have a truck now, I would wait and see what kind of deals you can find on a new '12. There should be some model year closeouts with incentives soon if they are not already out there.

Seems in line with other prices to me, maybe a touch high since it doesnt have all the options. I just picked up a 2010 Lariat supercrew 4wd with 46k miles on it, one owner with Nav, leather, 20" wheels, heated and cooled seats, back up camera, sunroof, yada yada, absolutely mint condition with new tires. $29k was the purchase price, and I am pretty confident that I got them as low as they would possibly go on the price. A lot of the 2012's left over are trucks I was not interested in, just not the right colors or options. Lot of times you have to sacrifice what you want in order to get a good year end deal.

You can get a brand new one for like $3-$4000 more. Is it worth saving so little and getting a 4 year old used truck? Keep shopping.

Not to mention you get better interest rates with a new vehicle than you do an older one.

Legit... BAD deal IMO. New trucks are so close to that... foolish to go used to "save" 3-4k as stated.

Then every truck out there for sale right now must be a bad deal lol. Yes, you can get a left over '12 xlt for a little over 30k. And no, the financing is not that much better. I got 2.65% on the '10 I just bought. And a new 2012 with my options stickers for over $48k. So are you saying that you can get a new 2012 with a sticker price of $48k+ for $33k? You need to be comparing apples to apples here, I am just trying to realistically help him out. Keeping it all in perspective.

And, just because the 5.0's and ecboosts have more power, doesnt maker them a better motor. Time will tell that story, and only time will tell.

You can find a better deal. There are a lot of dealerships that want to sell volume at lower prices. You can get a '13 loaded FX4 for $37k that has an msrp of $52k.

2012 FX4
CrewCab
5.0
Luxury Package
XPlan $40,415
Incentives $4250.
Total $36415.

$36165-$32000=$4165. more for a brand new. If the guy has room to negotiate and comes down another $3k to $29k that is $7k off new.

$7k / $36415 = 19% off what what you could pay for a 2012.

I don't know about you but I'm not paying someone over 80% of what it cost new for something 3 years old.

PS At his $32k asking price = only 11% off. Only 11% off after 3 years?
