So I've read through these threads as I'm looking at adding a backup system to my 09 super crew XLT. I have the mirror with the compass and the sync mic now. Everything I've read says that I need the 8U5A 17E678 EE mirror for the backup system inorder to keep my sync mic and compass. However, when I contacted Tasca, they said that I needed mirror 8U5Z17700-X.

Has anybody used this mirror before? I can't find much info anywhere. It doesn't show up on this forum anywhere. So I'm a little confused. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

I attempted to do the same and use a mirror camera for my 08 Mark LT... but I found it a lot easier purchasing a Kenwood DNX model indash that came with a rear cam. Visability is great, and also I now have a 7in touch screen and navigation.

I know this doesnt answer your question, but just throwing out a idea/thought...
